Gonio Fortress
Gonio Fortress, also known as Apsaros or Gonio-Apsaros, is one of the oldest and most well-preserved fortresses in Georgia. Its history spans over two millennia, with its origins tracing back to the 1st century AD when it was established by the Romans. The name "Gonio" is believed to be derived from "Apsaros," the name of a nearby river.
